I bought this lamp for my great aunt and she cannot stop talking about it! She loves it for reading, crossword puzzles and her favorite hobby: needlepoint. It has a plug-in adaptor, but it also runs on batteries, so she can take it from the den to the bedroom to read at night. It’s super bright and she can adjust it to whatever height she needs it.

My wife purchased this lamp for cross stitching at night while we are watching tv. It replaces an older rattle prone cross stitch lamp. The LED is bright and allows her to direct the light to exactly where she needs it so that the light doesn’t blind me while watching tv or even talking to her (the old one lit the room and tv like a runway). The magnification is great and she likes that portion. The only negative she spoke of was there is no place to clip the pattern she is following and thus has to pick it up and place it under the magnification when she needs it, but all else is great. She liked it so much she just bought another one to give to her aging dad for use while he does his crossword and game books. It will work terrific for him doing this.

I read several other reviews before I made my decision & decided to take a chance on this one because it appeared to have all my requirements and the price was right. I use it for my needlepoint work & I’m very pleased with it. It was easy to put together, very easy to use ;the adjustment works fine & hold the position whereever I put it. My only suggestion would be that I wish it came with a cover for the magnifyer to keep it clean & avoid possible fire if the sun should accidentally hit it. To avoid this I cover it with a napkin when it’s not being used. I would certainly recommend this lamp

My 86 year old mom has tried multiple hand held magnifiers over the years, some lighted, some not, in her efforts to keep reading after a diagnosis of dry macular degeneration. We decided to try this lamp due to the combination of LED lights, gooseneck positioning, and the strength of the magnifier.

In the month since the light was delivered my mom’s life has expanded. She loves this light. With her hands free, she can work her large-print crosswords puzzles and is even reading magazines again. We are thrilled with the light and are so grateful that her quality of life is better because of it.

Our one wish for improvement with this light would be for a more weighty base for stability.

I thought I’d update my original review some 18 months after we originally purchased this terrific light.

Mom still loves her light, in fact, Thanksgiving day I overheard her tell a friend that it was her life saver. We’ve had no troubles with the light since it was purchased. The weight of the base hasn’t been an issue for Mom and that is surprising because she is so wobbly.

I saw that it was on sale today and am thinking of buying it for my husband who also has vision troubles. I truly recommend this light to anyone needing hands-free lighted magnification.

I bought this lamp after shopping around quite a bit to find a magnifying lamp for needlework. I selected this lamp because it has a large lens, it’s easily adjustable, and the magnification level is just right for my needs. It was easy to assemble and works great.

This is a very good light and magnifier. The insert magnifier is not so great. I ordered a 3x magnifier and when it came it was only a 2x. But all in all it is nice.

This is a great combination lamp/magnifier, either for crafters or for those whose vision needs enhancement to read.
It is easy to put together and fairly sturdy… not the sturdiest, but for the price it is terrific.

I purchased this for my mother-in-law who had eye surgery and was unable to see well enough to hand quilt without using a magnifying glass. This lamp helped her tremendously. It provides not only concentrated light, but magnification so she can see to quilt. It frees up both hands. She loves it!

2X power with 6X insert are a perfect combinatio. Goose neck providrs correct height adjustments for reading in a comfortable easy chair & also, for performing work on a table or desk while seated. Construction is solid. Base is amply weighted for good stability.
