The high power LEDs are rated to last 40,000 hours until they drop to 70% brightness. This LED light comes with a built-in 4-step dimmer and is available in daylight and warm-white light models. The Z-Bar is a well made product; I purchased it because of its low consumption led lights. The lamp can be positioned in almost any way you want. I use it in our home office by the monitor and it works great! The brightness can be customized to your taste and it does not affect the LCD monitor or the eyes at all. Overall this is a great lamp; I would give it 5 stars if wasn’t for its price, it is a little bit on the pricey side.

This lamp is rock solid, provides excellent reading and task lighting, and is adjustable along every necessary axis. It also becomes rather invisible within my desktop “skyline”, never getting in the way or obstructing my view.

Yes, there are less expensive lighting solutions, and I was skeptical when I ordered this. However, its performance exceeds my high expectations, and I can see (now that I’ve actually laid hands on it vs. viewing its 2-dimensional image on my monitor) that it is built for the long haul.

Very bright focused light. The lamp itself is very well made. The four-step dimmer is a real nice feature. The flexibility and reach of this lamp is amazing. It is very functional without being obtrusive. Highly recommended!

This is what I was looking for in a desk light, and I have only two minor quibbles: I wish (1) the six-foot cord were a couple of feet longer, and (2) the resistence at the joints were either a little greater or adjustable because I’m afraid over time the light bar may droop. I can’t see any way to increase the resistance, and the instructions are silent. I still don’t know if I like the “warm” LEDs. I can’t compare this to the “cool” light bar, so I don’t know which one I would prefer; but in any event, this is a personal preference issue, not a fault or advantage of one over the other.
